Basic Information

"The Devrimci Halk Kurtuluş Partisi-Cephesi is a Marxist-Leninist party formed in 1978 in Turkey. A 1994 factional infighting within Dev Sol resulted in two factions: the main group was renamed DHKP/C, while the other created a new THKP/C.  Partisi-Cephesi (”Party/Front”) refers to the group’s political activities, while “Front” is a reference to a group’s military operations. DHKP/C holds anti-US and anti-NATO positions, and considers the Turkish government to be under the control of Western imperialism." From TRAC
