Patriot Day

Patriot Day is a day of remembrance for the victims and heroes of the 9/11 attacks on September 11, 2001. Learn about the history, and impact on military intelligence by stopping by the MI Library to check out our display.

MI Library Farewells

The MI Library said goodbye in the month of August to John Crawford, the Supervisory Librarian. John accepted a position at CARL Library at Fort Leavenworth. John was the librarian for the MI Library from July 2022-August 2024.  He arrived at USAICoE with a purposed vision and determination to support the schoolhouse and to establish an integration into the schoolhouse process.  His mark on the library started with the complete redesign of the library's website, newsletter, Hot Topics, advanced insight and purchase of databases, liaising within the schoolhouse, managing and proposing an effective library budget, library computer and Wi-Fi technical needs, library advisory board, introducing an internal workflow tracking and analysis database system, the library as a Third Place, embedding librarians throughout USAICoE, and support to the Harding Project.

As the Supervisory Librarian, John provided guidance to the library technicians professional development, training, and awards. The library team will especially miss John as a fair and intentional supervisor with a quick wit, the best ideas for games during luncheons, and his ability to tell a story during staff meetings that brought us all together.

Happy Retirement to Miguel Rodriguez, MI Foreign Language Training Center, CLPM.  Miguel's leadership and knowledge of the Foreign Language Program did not impede his knowledge and support to the library.  Miguel increased the purpose and quality of the foreign language print and audio collection, while also updating the collection to meet the needs of USAICoE.  Miguel was also the library's SME for military terms and practices. His professionalism is a testament to our continued partnership with MIFLTC.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to John Bodie from the Fort Huachuca museums.  John passed away in August and will be remembered for his collaboration with the MI Library on poster proposals, observance support, and social media.  John always had a cheerful hello to everyone on the team. He had a jovial response to life and carried his family on his sleeve.
