Stop 18 -- Mar Kim Hall

(Building 22334)

Mar Kim, a nephew of Sam Kee, ran a restaurant at Nogales for the soldiers of the 25th Infantry until that post closed and they moved to Fort Huachuca. He operated the Post Exchange restaurant at the back (or parade ground corner of this building), starting about 1931. The restaurant was a landmark fondly remembered by veterans reminiscing about their times here from 1920 to 1947 — it had replaced the restaurant in the basement of Brayton Hall at the opposite end of the parade ground. The building portion facing Boyd Avenue contained the PX or Post Exchange, and the part facing Augur Avenue held the Exchange Meat Market.
